We are living in a prophetic moment. Concern about the Church of the last days. The gospel characterized by coldness, lukewarmness, uncommitted to eternity. Double portion: the 2nd outpouring of the Holy Spirit – the feast.
Field of interest. What interests you. It’s important to go and see the field (world). He will see what interests him. He’ll see it first.
5 powers (forces) that fix (bind) man. The man with the plow only looks at the ground. Those who are trying out yoke of oxen don’t join the party. E.g. Elisha.
He saw it, now he’s going to try it (I’m going to try it – he liked it).
The boss. He decides, he commands. Influence, authority. He doesn’t listen, he wants to be master and not servant.
What most people want. Their name in the social column, status, pomp, fame, projection… It’s the joint that really holds them.
Everyone wants their own money. There’s nothing wrong with that. “If your riches increase, don’t set your heart on it”. It’s a yoke of oxen that holds a man down.
You don’t need a degree to have the Lord’s blessing. They associate believers with people without culture. E.g. Paul, Luke, Joseph of Arimathea. Salvation is the same for everyone – free of charge.
This one really sticks. People want a place of prominence in religion (positions, functions, groups). It goes back to the example of Elisha (killing the oxen and burning them with the plow). The plow is a power that binds; what binds man to the ground must be destroyed.
Commitment. 1st went to see, 2nd tried, 3rd got together.
Saw it, liked it, got married (united). I’m getting married (commitment)
REJECTION – “YOU WILL NOT ENTER MY PARTY”
Who entered the Feast? The needy.
There’s still room
Poor in spirit (needy); crippled, lame (unable to walk steadily, no revealed teaching, begotten with a problem, based on man); blind (not seeing the light – revelation).
FINAL – THERE’S STILL ROOM!
