Go out quickly into the streets – Preaching

Preaching Outline on Luke 14:21 – “And the servant returned and told his master these things. Then the father of the family was indignant and said to his servant, “Go out quickly into the streets and districts of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind.”

Introduction to Luke 14:21

Luke 14:21 is part of Jesus’ parable of the great supper. In this parable, a man throws a big party and sends his servant to invite the guests. However, they all start giving lame excuses for not coming.

Development of Luke 14:21

Man makes three excuses before God the Father for not taking his place at the table with Him (Communion) and for not being part of His Kingdom (eternal life), without thinking about the consequences of his attitude of rejection, even though it was done in the exercise of Free Will.

The excuses

1º It was seeing the world;
2º He went to experience the world;
3º Joined, committed to the world:
Saw it, liked it, got married (is united). I’m getting married (commitment)
The Attitude of the Father of the Family / The Invitation to the Gentiles.

When he heard all those excuses from his guests, the man became indignant and said to his servant:

Go out quickly into the streets and neighborhoods of the city, and bring here the poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind. The Father is in a hurry to carry out his plan.

THE MOMENT CALLS FOR HASTE

THERE ARE VARIOUS ACTIONS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, POINTING TO THE URGENCY OF THIS MOMENT AND DRAWING OUR ATTENTION TO THE TIME THAT IS “HURRYING BY”.
EVERYONE HAS A PLACE IN THE KINGDOM AND THE FATHER IS WORKING TO INCLUDE EVERYONE IN THE KINGDOM. THE WORK HAS BEEN LIVING THIS MOMENT WITH VARIOUS WORKS AND THE SERVANTS ARE ATTENTIVE!

As when they left Egypt, the Church is aware of the moment they are living in, because there is a time for everything to be fulfilled.
There they should eat hastily, because Pharaoh’s intention is to enslave God’s people in this world, diverting them from the eternal purpose so that they come to BUY, SEE AND MARRY, committing themselves to this world that will be left behind, outside the Kingdom, beyond the Red Sea and the Promised Land.

It is a Church that hurries, that does not procrastinate in carrying out what the Holy Spirit has determined and the revelations have multiplied in this regard, to go and meet the souls in need and we are attentive to this, in caring for those who have come into our midst!

POOR – Those who have nothing.
The Jews were born into a family that had all the guidance concerning the things of God.
There are people who were born in an evangelical cradle, that was their wealth. We were the poor because we didn’t have this wealth.

ALLEGED – Those who have to be carried. They don’t walk alone.

MANCOS – Those who don’t walk correctly, they don’t walk in a straight line. We didn’t get the Way right either. The one who limps between the Way and other paths. Doesn’t step firmly. Unstable in understanding.

BLIND – These are the people who can’t see anything. They don’t know THE WAY and you have to teach them: JESUS IS THE WAY.

THESE ARE THE ONES THE LORD IS SAVING IN THIS LAST HOUR, JUST AS WE ONCE WERE. WE MUST FIGHT TO PRESERVE OUR SALVATION, THOSE WHO HAVE RECEIVED THE INVITATION AT THE BEGINNING, THAT DOESN’T GIVE YOU A GUARANTEE OF THE KINGDOM, IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU THE OWNER OF THE KINGDOM: “I’M SAVED!” THERE IS NO SUCH THING: “WHOEVER BELIEVES WILL BE SAVED”

Paul says: “To see if by any means I may attain… I do not think that I have attained… but I press on to attain” (Philippians 3:11,12).

“FORCE THEM TO COME IN”

God’s providence:
Often a problem (illness, difficulty, unemployment) arises in your life because of a providence of God. A judgment of mercy, the LORD’S INFINITE GOODNESS AND HIS DESIRE TO TAKE MAN TO ETERNITY, “forcing” you to go to church, hear His Word, feel the touch of the Holy Spirit who convinces you of SIN, JUDGMENT AND HIS JUSTICE THROUGH JESUS so that you can be at His banquet in eternity.

Conclusion of Luke 14:21

This is how we came into the Lord’s presence, and you have to be in this condition to receive the invitation and take part in the feast. We had nothing, but the Lord, out of his infinite mercy, called us to take part in his supper and sit with him at his bountiful table. We accepted the invitation and that was very important for us, we valued what the Lord had given us, the invitation was superior to everything around us.

We are in the Lord’s field, earthly powers don’t hold us back, they don’t prevent us from accepting the invitation. Our commitment is not to the flesh, but we are committed to the Lord.

But the JUDGMENT will come, and it is serious, because the opportunity will pass forever. The door of Grace will close:

“For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste my supper.” Luke 14:24¨
