The beginning and the end of things – Preaching

Preaching Outline on Ecclesiastes 7:8 – “The end of things is better than the beginning of them.”

Introduction to Ecclesiastes 7:8

For the unsaved, this text of the Word can be incomprehensible and even painful, because man doesn’t like (and sometimes can’t bear) the end of things. But for the faithful church, which lives by the Word, there is a glorious end awaiting us.

Development

When we look at the PRINCIPLE of creation, man disobeys and loses the right to be eternal and to have a direct relationship with God. But in the END (and we are living in the time of the end), the Holy Spirit is revealing Jesus (God’s plan) to the heart that once no longer had the right to eternity, and is transforming lives and bringing salvation.

Paul, for example, in his youth was raised in a good religion to the point of killing to defend it and persecuted those who professed that Jesus was the Savior. However, after an experience with this Jesus whom he persecuted, he was transformed and made an instrument in the Lord’s hands. At the end of his journey, he was able to say:

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”. II Timothy 4:7

In the beginning, Jesus was born into a simple home, he was the son of simple people; he was persecuted, humiliated, crucified and killed.

However, at the END of three days, he was resurrected, defeated death and was sent to heaven.

In the PRINCIPLE, the Church was persecuted, thrown into the arenas, the furnaces and the lions’ dens. But in the END, what awaits her are streets of gold and rivers of crystal.

Conclusion of Ecclesiastes 7:8

The gospel we preach and live today is only the BEGINNING of an END in the eternity that awaits us.

You may be at the BEGINNING of a trial, but at the END you will give a shout of praise because a crown of glory awaits you.
