Preaching Outline on Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Even though King David had a lot of financial, political and military power, he didn’t put his trust in himself or his allies. He trusted only in the Lord, who is the same God we serve today.
The man who doesn’t know the Lord, who has not yet had an experience with Him, puts his trust in himself, in his job, in his diplomas, in his friends, in his money and in other things. job, diplomas, friends, money and other things. But when the struggle comes and he feels alone, he sees that he has no one to rely on.
But we, who serve the living God, the same God as David, we can say, just as he said: “God is our refuge, our fortress…”
We all face struggles in our daily lives. Work, school, home, criticism from colleagues. But the faithful servant has a place of refuge, a place to seek help.
A protected, safe place… they were made in the old days to shelter people from the attacks of their enemies. That’s our God! Our fortress, our protection Where we from the daily attacks of the adversary of our souls.
Who among us doesn’t feel distressed by so many struggles, do we? We are human, small, weak, needy, in need of the Lord’s blessings.
But we know a secret that the world doesn’t knows. It is the cry for the blood of Jesus, so that the Father can shelter us in his fortress. All we have to do is ask for help and he will help us !!!!!
Let’s keep trusting in the Lord…. Nothing can shake our confidence. The earth moving into the midst of the seas is the complicating the situation, is the tightening of the struggles, because the seas point to the struggles of this life. But Jesus will be with us. Just like in the boat, when the disciples woke Jesus, who was resting, for fear of dying, and he calmed the storm. calmed the storm.
We can sometimes be shaken, but our God gives us the strength not to crumble…
“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the sanctuary of the dwelling places of the Most High.”
The streams of the river are the blessings of the Spirit… our joy is the Lord. The sanctuary of the dwelling places of the Most High is the heart of the faithful servant.
Who do we turn to? Who can we trust? Yes, we have the Lord, Jesus, who won the greatest battle human beings can face, which was death. And if he won, we will win too, because with him we are more than winners.
