The fruit of the Holy Spirit Preaching Outline on Galatians 5:22-23 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law. ". Introduction In the epistle to the Galatians, the apostle Paul presents the obvious marks of those who experience the new birth. Those who allow themselves to be dominated by the Holy Spirit bear "fruit". A set of virtues that authenticate the product of the one who is regenerated in Jesus. A joy that trusts in God, that makes us strong even in tribulations. Peace The meaning of "this" peace is more than the absence of war and conflict. It is harmony, fullness in all areas of life. A peace that makes us promoters of God's kingdom on earth. Throughout his ministry, Christ promoted peace among men. The Holy Spirit awakens us to a commitment to peace. The Gospel enlists us to be instruments of peace, and leads us to dive in and enjoy it like someone enjoying a river on a hot day. Long-suffering Even before we receive this virtue from the Holy Spirit, we can observe it in God, who "tolerates" human beings despite their deviations. The long-suffering person is: persevering, patient, slow to anger or despair, does not seek revenge. It is an essential virtue in dealing with others. It leads us to always forgive, even if we have been offended. "An angry man stirs up strife, but a long-suffering man appeases wrath." Prov 15:18 Benignity It's kindness in action. It's love showing compassion. It's the willingness to be good, to think well of others; it means that we shouldn't judge people. Kindness makes us look "with good eyes". This virtue is linked to feeling. Kindness It differs from kindness in that it is an external quality. It is action, practice. Kindness, Generosity. Faith It's faith in the sense of FIDELITY, to God and to others. Meekness It is also one of the beatitudes. It combines strength and gentleness. With gentleness you argue in a tolerant way, face the truth without resentment and support the weakest. Own domain Also called temperance, it is the expression of a love that does not "lose control". This virtue seals us with a moral purity, controls passions and steadies the soul. It is the necessary balance in our relationships with people.
